Server Rules
By playing on PoseidonMC, you agree to follow these rules. Ignorance is not an excuse — when in doubt, ask a staff member.
General Conduct
- Your account, your responsibility. Any rule broken on your account is treated as broken by you — "it was my sibling/friend" is never an accepted excuse.
- Common sense applies. We can't write a rule for every possible bad behavior. Staff can and will act on conduct that's clearly disruptive or unfair, even if it isn't spelled out below.
- Alt accounts cannot be used to dodge punishments or gain extra benefits. Evading a mute/ban with a second account, claiming a "different person," or using an alt to stack rewards, playtime, or resources is forbidden. Alts are essentially limited to passive uses (e.g. sitting at an AFK farm) — nothing that gives you an edge, and nothing earned on an alt may be transferred off it.
Reporting & Evidence
- Reports need footage. If you're reporting another player, include at least 60 seconds of video from before the incident, not just the moment itself.
- Submit reports through the proper channel (forums/ticket system) rather than in-game chat or DMs to staff.
- Incomplete reports get closed, not investigated — so make sure your clip and details meet the requirement before sending.
- Running background recording software is strongly recommended (Shadowplay, ReLive, OBS, etc.) so you always have footage on hand if something happens.
Chat & Communication
- No advertising other servers, Discords, or services in public chat or DMs — this includes links and QR codes made via maps.
- No profanity in public chat, and no creative spelling/spacing/symbols to dodge the filter. Swearing is fine in private messages or party chat only if everyone involved is comfortable with it.
- Zero tolerance for hate speech or slurs — race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, age, or otherwise.
- No harassment or targeted trolling. Leave someone's claim/area when asked, don't abuse mechanics to annoy people (fake announcements, blocking views while disguised, spam-TPing someone, etc.), and don't dodge an /ignore through alternate means like mail or signs.
- No spamming or excessive caps.
- Keep it SFW — no sexual talk, and no NSFW or hot-button topics (politics, drugs, religion, crime, etc.) in public chat, including via anvil-renamed items. This is a family-friendly server.
- No threats of violence or DDoS, even framed as jokes — they're treated as serious regardless of intent.
- No impersonation of staff, other players, or anyone else.
- No doxxing. Don't share your own or anyone else's real name, address, phone number, photos, or socials. Under 18? Don't post your age. Speculating publicly about why someone got punished also falls under this.
- English only in public chat, so staff and players can moderate/understand conversations.
Gameplay
- No griefing, raiding, or scamming — even on unclaimed builds. If someone asks you to back off their area, do it.
- Found a glitch or exploit? Report it, don't use it. Exploiting bugs for personal gain is a bannable offense.
- No offensive skins, usernames, or builds.
- No lag-machine builds. Massive hopper systems, item frame walls, redstone contraptions, etc. need to stay reasonable — staff may reach out if your build is causing problems. Cap item frames around 200 per 10x10 chunk area.
- Build limits per player: roughly 250 redstone components, 175 tile entities, 20 beds, and 9 spawners — with a separate cap of 9 spawners per individual farm/chunk. You cannot spread a farm across multiple chunks/corners or use alts to get around these caps — doing so gets the setup wiped with no warning and no compensation.
- No boss/mob-fight cheesing. Positioning yourself so a boss can't hit back, or skipping dungeon phases instead of clearing them properly, results in a ban or wipe without prior notice.
- No real-money trading for in-game currency or items, in either direction.
- Don't waste staff's time. False reports and using help channels for non-staff issues will get your future requests deprioritized.
- Leave the AFK zone alone. Pushing/moving other players out of the spawn AFK area is an instant ban.
- Confessing to a rule break — even "as a joke" — will be treated as a genuine violation, since separating a real confession from trolling isn't worth staff's time either way.
- Helping others break rules, or covering for them, carries the same weight as breaking the rule yourself and can result in a permanent ban.
Claims & Land
- Major structures (End Portals, Outposts, Villages, Ocean Monuments, Fortresses, Bastions) can be reclaimed from inactive owners under certain conditions — for example, 120+ days inactive with no other unclaimed copy nearby, 60+ days inactive while hoarding multiples of the same structure, or 30+ days inactive with no real development done to it. End Portals specifically must stay accessible to all players via Eye of Ender — an open, reachable claim won't be touched regardless of activity.
- New bases should be roughly 100 blocks from existing ones. This is enforced on a report basis — if a nearby player flags it, you may be asked to relocate. The main End island is shared space; private End farms need to be built well away from it.
- Max of 5 separate claims per player. Going over that (roughly 20-50+ blocks apart counts as "separate") risks deletion without refund if staff notices.
- Don't wall off the End Dragon fight. Claiming the pillars/arena to block others from fighting it is not allowed.
Client & Mod Rules
- Cosmetic or QoL mods are fine. Optifine, armor/status HUDs, brightness/gamma changes, and similar client-side improvements are completely fine. The line is anything that gives a gameplay advantage.
- No hacked clients.
- No x-ray, in mod or resource-pack form.
- Minimaps are okay as long as they don't reveal cave systems.
- No auto-clicking or auto-building mods/macros/scripts of any kind — actions need to come from manual input.
